Wax Inhibitor – Black Gold Production

Wax deposition precipitation is one of the most spread reasons that make oil production more problematic. Precipitation from fluid in tubing and crude oil pipeline decrease oil flow. Organic deposition formation negative consequences and issues during remediation work appear due to structural-mechanical and colloid-chemical properties of wax. Thermal and remediation methods are not very effective. Special solvents are used to remove deposition from inorganic surfaces but the inhibition methods can be more effective.

If fluid water cut is more 5% usually dispersants are applied for wax deposition preventing during fluid transportation. Dispersants are complicated surface-active compositions that stimulate disintegration and removing existing deposition via fluid flow and leave inorganic surface of near wellbore zone and oil equipment water-wet to block further wax accumulation. They also prevent precipitation and formation of wax from crude oil.
